Deborah founded this company so she could be her own boss, and so she could fulfill the high standards she sets for herself and for others. She brought on Judy’s guidance because Judy is an expert in all things real estate. The purpose of our company, together, is to focus on providing a dedicated staff of lawyers only. While many other law firms, especially those that focus on real estate, use paralegals and administrative staff, Deborah and Judy do not. As a client, this means that you have a trained attorney handling every point of your transaction, and this helps because details don’t get lost. From the first conversation at intake, the things you tell your attorney can be used later on to help make the transaction smooth for you. It also helps because you have a personal relationship with your attorney – she knows if you’re moving because you are expecting a new little one, or because you’re ready to downsize, or found a new job across the country. founder
Deborah Chessick
Deborah concentrates her practice in residential real estate purchases and sales. In every transaction, Deborah is excited to work with her clients to help them achieve their best outcome. She focuses on the giving her clients all the information they need to make the smartest decisions possible, and does so in a personal way. Her previous experience enabled her to develop skills in negotiation and contract review, as well as interviewing and communicating with a diverse spectrum of clients. Prior to founding The Chessick Law Group, LLC, Deborah worked for almost seven years as a Cook County State’s Attorney, prosecuting hundreds of misdemeanors and felonies in the Domestic Violence, Traffic, First Municipal, and Felony Review Divisions. Deborah was in court on a daily basis for most of her career as a State’s Attorney, and represented the people of Cook County in hundreds of motions and hearings as well. Prior to becoming a State’s Attorney, Deborah was part of the legal team of Restaurant.com, where she advised the staff and performed tasks such as contract review, and wrote website terms such as privacy policies, terms and conditions, and affiliate agreements. She also assisted that team with contract negotiations involving marketing, finance, and technology partners.
